What were your main responsibilities as a volunteer?
Seed production in remote hill villages.
Is there a specific person (or persons) who made a strong impression on you during that time?
The two families I lived with - one in a remote village in far western Nepal and the other in Kathmandu. Their hospitality and generousity made all the difference for my time in Nepal.
What was one of the most memorable moments you had as a volunteer?
Writing a seed storage safety manual in Nepali.
In what ways did your Peace Corps experience affect your life and/or career decisions?
Got me on the path of environmental sustainability issues.
In what ways did your U-M education, both inside and outside the classroom, prepare you for your Peace Corps experience?
Acutally did my undergrad at MSU and then went to Nepal. After Peace Corps I did my PhD at UM.
